Focus groups and personal interviews
The Survey Program has experience consulting, designing, recruiting, conducting, and analyzing focus groups and personal qualitative interview projects.
Past study topics include caretaking of patients with memory loss; concepts of healing; quality of cancer care as discussed by patients, caregivers, and providers; and smoking cessation.
CHS houses a conference room with viewing and audiotape capabilities. Survey Program group moderators can also use conference rooms at other sites.
Digital recording equipment is used to record focus group sessions and in-person or telephone interviews. A reporting service can provide state-of-the-art transcription. Atlas.ti software aids analysis and report-writing of focus group and interview results.
