Diana S. Buist, PhD, MPH
Associate Investigator

Research Interests:
Dr. Buist is a scientific investigator II at Group Health Center for Health Studies and an affiliate assistant professor in the Epidemiology Department at the University of Washington's School of Public Health and Community Medicine. She is an epidemiologist whose current work focuses on the primary and secondary prevention and control of breast cancer with some additional work in osteoporosis prevention and midlife women's health. She has been at Group Health Center for Health Studies since 1996. 

Dr. Buist has expertise in the design and analysis of longitudinal cohort studies, studies on screening for early detection and randomized interventions. She has further experience contributing to several large multi-center collaborative studies within the HMO Research Network, the Cancer Research Network and the Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics. 

Dr. Buist is the principal investigator for the Breast Cancer Surveillance Project (one of seven sites involved in the national Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium).
