Survey Research Program
The CHS Survey Research Program (SRP) offers a full range of capabilities related to
the design, implementation, and analysis of health-related surveys. Begun
in 1988, the program serves research projects from Group Health and
outside institutions, such as the University of Washington. It employs a
full-time core staff of 12, with up to 30 part-time interviewers.
Equipped with 17 computer-assisted telephone interviewing stations, the
program can accommodate a number of concurrent projects. About 10 to 15
projects are active at a given time.
SRP staff has experience working with diverse
populations and a variety of topic areas, including mental health,
adolescent health, smoking cessation, diabetes, and women's health. New
studies include a longitudinal study of patients with chronic pain and a
study of childhood immunizations.
