- Adult Wellness Study—This study is looking
at the relationship of health habits, common symptoms, health status,
chronic conditions of adults and use of health services.
- Atrial Fibrillation Incidence, Risk Factors and
Genetics—This study is designed to determine risk factors for
irregular heart rhythm and its complications.
- Clotting Genetic Variants, Hormones, and Venous
Thrombosis—This study is looking at factors that may be associated
with increased risk of blood clots in the legs and lungs among hormone
replacement therapy users.
- Hormone Therapy, Prothrombotic Variants and the
Risk of MI or Stroke—This study will assess the association
of genetic variants in platelets and coagulation factors and heart
attack and stroke
- Pharmacogenetics and Cardiovascular Events—The
goals of this study are to assess interactions between selected
cardiovascular medications and genetic reactions to them on the
incidence heart attack, stroke and irregular heart rhythm.
- Project QUIT—A Web-based study
designed to provide support to Group Health members who would like to
quit smoking.
- REACH—The Reach study goal is to improve
understanding of the biology and prevention of diseases of the rectum
and colon.
- SPINE—The SPINE study will evaluate the
effectiveness of acupuncture for treating chronic low back pain
(baseline, 2-, 6-, 12-month interviews).
- STAR—The STAR study aims to gain a better
understanding of how asthma symptoms and symptoms of anxiety and other
disorders can affect each other in adolescents.

- EBB Study (Equol, Breast and Bone
Density)—The goal of the EBB study is to answer the question:
Are there differences in hormone levels and hormone-related factors,
between women who have the ability to produce equol verson those who
do not?
- Electronic Communications and Home B.P. Monitoring—This
study will look at to improving hypertension control, using
home blood pressure monitoring and Web-based communication.
- READ (Radiology Evaluation and Breast Density)—The
READ study aims to answer the question: Will stopping HRT for 1 to 2
months before a mammogram will improve the mammogram image?
